Name one church that teaches & practices ALL that’s in the bible?

The Irreverend asked the question:

Not one single church teaches and practices ALL that is in the bible since it contains so many contradictory teachings. Churches just pick and choose what to teach and preach and ignore the rest of it. That’s why there are so many different denominations with so many different contradictory teachings and practices. It all started with the bible.

Finding the right church?

zamira asked the question:

I started reading The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren. Within the first three pages I realized that the Lord was giving me another chance. The problem is that I don’t know what denomination to attend. I used to go to a non-denominational church, but it’s so far away. I don’t like churches that are highlighted by the type of community in it (caucasian, hispanic, African American) because I want my son to see a mixed community and not become segregated. Are there any contemporary churches that teach about the word, worship, and provide the message in a modern way? Where do I find that in Maryland? I thought of Arlington, VA. What denomination is Pastor Rick Warren’s church?

Are you sure church and state should be seperated?

ace asked the question:

consider this:
Pilgrims came to America to establish gov’ts that were based on Judeo Christian values.
Secularists claim that they meant to create a godless system in which church and state were seperate. This is a myth.
the term “seperation of church and dtate” came from a letter by President T. Jefferson to a group that had expressed concerned that the gov’t would favor on religious denomination over another.
Liberals have used this term to drive religion out of public schools and gov’t, yet Jefferson and the founding fathers had no intention of removing religion from American culture. In Fact they Knew Christianity had to be the bedrock upon which our nation was founded on. It would not survive w/o a firm moral basis.
Even Washigton’s said in his farewell adress:
“of all destitutions and habits which lead to political prosperity, Religion and morality are indespnsible supports…Tis substantially true, that virture or morality is neccessary for a spring of gov’t.”
virtue and morality are are necessary for free, rebpublican gov’t: religion is necessary for virtue and morality: religionis, therefore, necessary for republican gov’t
James Madison
“We have staked the whole future of American civilization , not under the power of gov’t ,far from it. We have staked the futer of all of ourpolitical institutions upon the capacity of Mankind for self-gov’t.upon the capacity of each and all of us toto govern ourselves , to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves to The Ten Commandments of God.

The Fate Of The Episcopal Church In The Anglican Communion?

topazelf asked the question:

Tensions continue to rise between the Episcopal Church, USA (ECUSA) and the worldwide Anglican Communion. Some fear that the ECUSA, which already enjoys great independance and “autonomy” may separate from the wider Communion, whether by expulsion or by leaving.

Additionally, many conservative Episcopalians are individually leaving the ECUSA and joining more traditional denominations (Catholic, Orthodox).

Is it possible for the Communion to resolve its conflicts and bring everyone back together into their Anglican family?

Why do different Christian churches hate members from other Christian denominations? W/c is the true one?

rose asked the question:

Each religious group are claiming to be the true one which teaches the truth about salvation, about God’s love and about being one w/ Jesus but most churches dislike members from other Christians churches, though they all claim to be Christians.
some christians do criticize their fellow members and would hate them because of attending gatherings from another churches. some of them will say that maybe you are not yet saved and others are very judgemental. other groups would think the same, each says they are the true one that teaches the truth, each groups really hate each other because each group tells something against the other group.
the bible says –Galatians 5:19-23
19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, STRIFE, seditions, heresies,21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of heaven.
So, you will see which church is being lead by the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Catholic Church and salvation?

Colin asked the question:

During the Reformation and even today, Protestants and Catholics debate over how one acheives (receives?) salvation. (there is, of course, even disagreements among the many Protestant denominations).

What are the present teachings in The Catholic Church regarding salvation? Who is saved? How important are the sacraments?

Thank you for your answers. Peace.

Why are other denominations worried about who is/isn’t a cult?

jack-copeland@sbcglobal.net asked the question:

I have asked recently about different Christian beliefs, and the definition of a cult. As one answered, “If a church has different practices then the one you attend, then they are not following what you believe the Bible to say. This would make them a cult.”

Look at the differences churches.
1. Some have no music, some have more, and some have all types of musical instruments.
2. Some meet on Saturday, others meet on Sunday.
3. Some believe having a beer is OK, others say not to.
4. Some believe in baptism, others don’t. And those that do, can’t agree on the age or the method.

So, why is everyone worried about who is/isn’t a cult? Can’t we accept others? Did not Christ preach love?

For the record, I believe if a church is assisting with a person on building and maintaining a growing relationship with Christ, then that church is doing something positive. God, our Heavenly Father, will make amends on infractions if the person is humble and has a contrite spirit.
