Why do different Christian churches hate members from other Christian denominations? W/c is the true one?

rose asked the question:

Each religious group are claiming to be the true one which teaches the truth about salvation, about God’s love and about being one w/ Jesus but most churches dislike members from other Christians churches, though they all claim to be Christians.
some christians do criticize their fellow members and would hate them because of attending gatherings from another churches. some of them will say that maybe you are not yet saved and others are very judgemental. other groups would think the same, each says they are the true one that teaches the truth, each groups really hate each other because each group tells something against the other group.
the bible says –Galatians 5:19-23
19Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, STRIFE, seditions, heresies,21Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of heaven.
So, you will see which church is being lead by the power of the Holy Spirit.

    Can you give exact examples?

I have attended several churches of a variety of denominations, throughout my christian life and have never found any of them to hate a different denomination.
Disagree with them yes, but not hate.
    Please explain.

I was baptized in a Baptist churh- I am now attending a nondenominational church. I support any church that says Jesus is the ONLY way!

Yes it is silly so what I go by is simple

If they believe the ENTIRE Bible without throwing out the gifts of the spirit like 90% of the “Christian” churches do then I like there church. at no point does the Bible ever say that tongues and healing will EVER end, on the contrary it says these gifts are to all that the lord our God shall call. And guess what HE IS STILL CALLING.`

just because a church claims to be christian does not mean they are. They have to follow the commands GOD gave in the bible to be a christian.

That is similar to my first question on R&S. I still am seeking an answer.

This site asks the same question.

i go to a non denominational church for that very reason. the bible says to seek out your own salvation with fear and trembling.

but in answer to your question asking which is the ‘right’ one:
its any and all of them that believe that Jesus was born to save us and that He bled and died then rose again. and that its through Him we are saved.

I think most religions do that. I think God in about love. I think we are here to learn more about ourselves and how to love. I think that although all religions seem to share some basic views. Religions in general seem to promote separatism rather than how to love all of Gods children. If anyone really sat down and thought about it-as you have done. It doesn’t make sense that this religion and this book is the right and only way and every other religion or book is wrong and will send you to hell. I think there are many paths to God. But most of all I think God is about Love.

I know and I’m sick of it too.

Just because we call ourselves Christians does not mean we have a better grip on relationship building than anyone else. Sometimes I think we are the most prejudicial and immature people on the face of this earth.

Sorry, caught me on a “ranting” kind of day. LOL

Christ him self is the only one true church. What you are talking about is the human stuff. When you deal with humans you are gonna get the imperfection. It’s not that they dislike the people they just don’t always agree on different things that are being done humanly with in the church. Christians are not suppose to fight about that human stuff because we do worship the same Lord and savior!!!

I do not hate anybody, let alone another Christian. I respect their right to believe what they choose, and would expect them to do the same for me.I don’t believe there is any ONE True Church of Jesus Christ on this earth today. They all have some truths, but one of them have all truths. The one thing that we would all agree on, I think, Is that Jesus Christ is Our Saviour, and He came to this earth and died on the cross to save all us sinners.I was once a catholic, I am now non-denominational Christian, but that don’t mean that I dislike catholics. The bible holds the truth. Each faith interprets it a bit different, thats where the differences are.

Here in America I don’t think Christians denominations hate and dislike each other, I think strongly disagree is more appropiate, I think the same can be said for Chistians in most other countries.

That is what bothers me 2.
I am LDS, but i go to my friends church all the time. And one time they were totally ripping on our religion. I respect ALL religions…(other than satan worshipers). As long as we are good people..i think that is what matters most. NOw of course im going to say, my religion is the true one because that is what I beleive in, but it all matters in what YOU beleive in and feel comfortable with.
