What is the worst church you have been to?

Delgarits asked the question:

I just came back from a Methodist church, the people were quite honestly rude.. I was scorned at while searching for an envelope to give to their donation. The people would not move out of the way in pews if you wanted to sit down. Then at the end, no one would let me out.. Everyone was lining out of the pews in a rush so they could all sit in the lobby and make me wait longer to get out cause when I finally did get there they cut in front of me again… This place was spiritually devoid.. I mean, the choir was great but other than that it was lousy, the people were rude and judgemental.. I thought a Methodist church would be a safe place to investigate.. bleh.. Out of all of the Churches I have gone to and all of the denominations this was by far the worst. I think I will investigate a non denominational next..

It reminds me why I left Christianity in the first place.

Gee, I’ve been to Methodist churches and never experienced that.

The worst Church I’ve been to was very manipulative. It was one of the International Churches of Christ, a group which is regarded as “cultic” in the psychological sense. The one I visited happened to be in Syracuse, NY.

The Church Of Manalo i mean Christ. It was founded by self-proclaimed belch messenger of God which was Eraño Manalo from the Philippines. If he was a messenger then why did he die like many years ago? And he also brainwashes his followers more like a cult does!

This why religion sucks! Yep this is a prime example of why you should not go to church, stop believing in God, and stop being fooled by religion. JOIN US, JOIN US. Use this one example as a means to the truth.

    LMAO!!!!

No serious, everyone has encountered a church that wasn’t for them. I have walked out of service before. Some churches are so tight, they are like families and new people will make them take a second look. Instead of validating your negative opinion of religion why don’t you try to find the good in them. They are humans, perhaps they need a chance to open up to you. Should they do that automatically, sure? However, you shouldn’t take your first encounter with them as the basis of how they really are. Give people the benefit of the doubt, you have nothing to lose.

I went to one of those “strip mall” churches with a friend of mine in Albuquerque a few years ago. One (like so many these days) that spend more time on entertainment than substance. I thought it was very entertaining, in a comical way.

However, after the sermon when I explained to the minister that some of the things he said contradicted Christ’s teachings, I was asked to not come back. So sad.

I don’t know the name of the church, but I will always remember my experiences there.

It’s very sad what’s happening to Christianity lately.
I’m really scared of the future, I think we’re going to have a bunch of little Christian terrorists.
    Good luck on your search-
Have your tried Episcopal or Catholic? We are not “in your face”.
Religious Science has people from all over, with out the tude, and is a non-denominational.

The church most people have been to. The Church of the Roman Apostolic Catholic Church.

    Full of idolatry.

What profiteth the graven image that the maker thereof hath graven it; the molten image, and a teacher of lies, that the maker of his work trusteth therein, to make dumb idols?
    Habakkuk 2:18
    King James Version

Woe unto him that saith to the wood, Awake; to the dumb stone, Arise, it shall teach! Behold, it is laid over with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst of it.
    Habakkuk 2:19
    King James Version
