I am thinking of going to a baptist church, but need some insight on that denomination’s belief please?

Keithikins asked the question:

A basic introduction or summary would be nice.

Thanks Yahoo! Baptists!
What Bible? Is it a born-again faith. How do they believe in the bible more than other Christians/Catholics?

I have so many questions as you can tell.

they simply believe in the Bible. I suggest you talk to a Baptist minister and let him explain, then make up your own mind

God created the Heaven and the Earth. Gave his son to die for or sins. You need to have God as head of your life and all that you do.

Don’t drink alcohol because that is against their beliefs. You have to hate gays and want to limit civil rights. You must also buy a large SUV that gets 15 miles to the gallon because they don’t give a rats ass about the environment.

I go to a nondenominational church . We study the bible(God’s Word). No man made rules that alot of other denominations do. This way there is no label on you. You love Christ and are “born again” as the bible specifically states . ( when you as him into your heart its a spiritual awakening with the Holy Spirit in your spirit.) The people are great full of God’s love and joy and celebrating Christ.

it can be Bible believing. I have not seen one that did not use the authorized kjv. Sunday night service is a tradition in Baptist. So is Wed. prayer meeting. Unfortunately, most are away from the reform faith from which they sprung…believing in a pre-trib lala land and all.

their pastors USUALLY live on a small income and cottage. not like the congregations today paying the pastors’ credit card bills and gas bills and etc.
