Would any Christian of any denomination ever admit that their church is not the True Christian Church?

Adder_Astros asked the question:

You would sooner defend a Roman Caesar… one of the lieingous, theivingous, murderous types of Humans ever conceived than to aknowledge the FACT that many of the key figures responsible for turning ‘Letters from the Apostels’ into ‘The New Testament’ were… well… untrustworthy at best? Or is it that you just can’t bring yourself to admit that you may not have thought this all the way through?? I hope you understand, then why I cannot trust you OR your precious Caesar.

A lot of Christians would not see themselves as members of the ‘one True church’, but as followers of Jesus, along with lots of other Christians who also follow Jesus, but use different traditions and rituals in doing it.

No, they’d never admit that. What fun would that be?

  3. dawn® on February 25th, 2009 3:41 pm

probably not or they wouldnt be there … but the walls and the name stuck on the front door does not a christian make imo …

If they did then they would not believe.

A christian never admits anything at all. They always squirm around the questions and never really answer anything.

Because people do not ever want to admit they are wrong. Nor do they think they are wrong to begin with. They feel they are betraying god. Well in the end it all boils down to being a hypocrite because some go and judge others when they are the ones playing the part as well.

It is difficult but apparently so, because the pews in my Church are filled with X this and that. When I joined, there were about 2,000,000 and now there are 13,000,000. They weren’t all born into it.

Sounds kind of silly. Would any Christian admit that they were not a Christian? Would a plumber say they weren’t a plumber?

I am Christian (Pentecostal). And I do admit I state that but.. only when I see that at the end the preachings..the pastor does not call any to repent and take god as their true savior…

P.S. Mormon is not real Christian…
If you don’t believe me look it up yourself..

The True Christian Church is not a denomination and simply attending a church that may actually preach the true word of God, does not make one a member of the Chruch of Christ. Membership to that church is dependent upon each persons individual faith.

I appreciate my church (the place I attend worship service), but it is a place where I learn about God. My membership in the True Church is via my faith and has no “building.”

since my church is not called the True Christian Church, nor is that the name of the sect i belong to, i will stand up and admit that my church is not the True Christian Church.

also, to some of the above answerers. please dont lump all christians into one group, think logically for yourselves, and recognize that we are not all the same in the same way that not all black people are the same or all americans or all harry potter fans or all vegetarians.

not to argue but yes many people in the bible where not 100% pure but who is? no person is perfect we all make mistakes and we all sin that is why christ died on the cross for us. going to heaven is not about being perfect your whole life its about seeing that you are a sinner and being regetful and taking god and christ into your heart to help you find the correct path and stay away from the devil. if you think you are free of sin then you are being prideful arrogent and vain which are all sins so …..

most wont admit it. they also wont admit that their religion has many pagan attributes.

Ancient rome was pagan. Constatine wanted to fill his mother’s dying wish by converting rome to christian but didnt want to upset the people so he combined Judaism with paganism and poof there was christianity. jesus didnt want a new religion based on him, he wanted people to remain what they were, jew, pagan, whatever and just live a better life with morals. till the day he died jesus called himself a jew.

But back to what you are actually asking. Having known chrisitians of many denominations and been brought up catholic I feel the demonmiations each feel they are right, the other is wrong. I don’t understand why there needs to be so many. cant christians just be christian?

The Bible is true and the Letters are part of divinely inspired writings, because they prove themselves to be so, not because of wishful thinking. Any group or individual who devotes themself to this is on the path of Truth, regardless of what folks like you think or believe. I hope you’ll come along with us.

Most churches do not hold to the idea that there is one “True Christian Church.”

So very few would claim to be THE True Christian Church.

Now, none would admit their church is not *A* True Christian Church.
Just as no one will admit their opinion is wrong & still hold to that opinion. If they are aware their opinion is wrong, that is the moment they change their opinion.
Same for churches. Once they realize their church is not *A* True Christian Church, they would stop going there.

I though this might be a serious question but when I saw it I realised it wasn’t. So enjoy your rant!
