The Catholic Church and salvation?

Colin asked the question:

During the Reformation and even today, Protestants and Catholics debate over how one acheives (receives?) salvation. (there is, of course, even disagreements among the many Protestant denominations).

What are the present teachings in The Catholic Church regarding salvation? Who is saved? How important are the sacraments?

Thank you for your answers. Peace.

the sacraments are steps to follow jesus christ.. the most important is the celebration of the body of last supper.. the salvation is by faith and actions..

the catholics STILL do NOT teach true salvation, the way it is in the Bible.

and………. some of the protestants don’t either

    Salvation only comes at death.

It is achieved by: Receiving the Sacraments, especially Communion & Confession.

Devotion to prayer, especially the Holy Rosary.

Praying for one another, & asking the Blessed Mother & all the Saints to pray for you.

Catholics believe that salvation is achieved by faith in Jesus and taking the sacraments, which is in no way, shape or form taught in the Scriptures. Their trust is not 100% in Jesus Christ alone as the Scripture states that it must be and every single Catholic will burn alive forever.

Salvation is a life-long event, and isn’t guaranteed. It’s a gift, and all gifts can be pushed away.

Our works show our faith, and help build it: Ye shall know them by their fruits. We DO NOT and NEVER have preached that salvation is by works. It is by faith.

You need to read The Catechism of the Catholic Church. You would be very surprised by what it says. The most important Sacrament is the Holy Eucharist which Catholics believe is the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. Peace

The only way to be saved and have the right to enter heaven is to obey Jesus words, “Jesus answered, “I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.” (John 3:5).
No RCC, no sacraments, no repentance prayers, no mass, no good works etc etc can bring you your salvation from sins and entry into heaven.
If you try and come another way this is what response you will get from Jesus, “I tell you the truth, the man who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate, but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber.”

So go ahead and try anyway, for you will not listen and then suffer the consequences.

We might also ask…WHO is Babylon the Great?

warned about at Revelation 18; 4,5
Has a great number of members.
Is dressed in gold and purple and scarlet.

The Pope visiting USA is accompanied by Cardinals wearing scarlet sashes…significant?

No other religion matches so closely the description of Babylon in Revelation…significant?

    Philippians 2 ; 12 Consequently, my beloved ones, in the way that YOU have always obeyed, not during my presence only, but now much more readily during my absence, keep working out YOUR own salvation with fear and trembling;

Compare what the bible says with what you SEE.
